Correct postures while you work on a desk

Most of you have a sedentary job where you have to sit for more that 6-7 hours working on your desktops. We feel pity for those who work standing all the day but we just don’t know that if we constantly sit for 5 hours and work is equal to smoking a packet of cigarettes. You must be sitting and reading this. Can you just give yourself sometime and calculate how many hours do you actually sit on a stretch. I am sure it will be more than five.

The normal working hours of any office job exceed from 9 to 10 hours on an average. Also every desk job requires you to sit and concentrate on the 14 inch screen in front of you and make wonders. During this creation of wonders you will end up harming your own health forever.

Sitting for a very long time makes you vulnerable to heart diseases, mental sickness, stress, high blood pressure etc. While sitting and working at times we sit in poses which can affect your back, lower back, legs, eyes, gaining fat.

Taking a good posture will makes your brain active, prevents headaches. It reduces back pain and chances of felling a prey to cervical. It lowers cholesterol levels and improves digestion.

There are a few ethics which can help you resist these ailments to enter your body.

  • Maintain a good posture while sitting on a chair, take a strong and flexible chair but not a shaky one. Sit with your back straight, do not lean ahead or behind. Keep your eye level normal, neither up nor down.
  • While using a mouse, do not align your wrist at 90 degrees to your hand, it might cause sprain. Keep mouse close you at a level below chest and above stomach.
  • While working take a short break, stand straight against a wall and relax your body.
  • Crossing legs while sitting is not a good posture, it creates unhealthy blood circulation. Keep your legs at 90 degrees to your thighs. Your feet should always touch the ground while sitting, they should not be hanging in air.
  • The famous 20-20-20---one should take rest for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes and look at things that are 20feet or more away from you computer screen.
  • Take walking breaks in the day and walk to refresh yourself and get new ideas.

If you follow these instructions you will keep yourself away from obesity, stress. Taking high calorie content will not affect your heart so much and you will feel healthy and happy all the time.
