  • Gram flour ( Besan ) – Besan is an brilliant ingredient for deep cleansing and ex-foliating your skin to get rid of dead skin as well as absorbs excess oil. It also helps in removing unwanted facial hair.

Make a thick paste by mixing two tablespoons of gram flour in sufficient yogurt. If possible stir in one-half to one- quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder. Spread it on the face and leave it till it dries completely. Scrub it off and then wash your face. Repeat it two or three times a week on a regular basis.

  • Strawberries - Strawberries are also a useful home remedy for white heads. Their somewhat rough texture exfoliates the skin, thereby eradicating trapped dirt, dead skin cells and oil clogging the pores. They contain salicylic acid, a common element used in anti – acne treatments to help clear pores. Plus the ellagic acid presents in this fruit shields the skin from sun damage caused by ultraviolet rays.

Prepare paste by mashing two or three strawberries. Mix with it one tablespoon honey. Spread it on the face and gently massage in circular motion for a few minutes. Leave it on the face for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off. Repeat it once or twice a week for a few months. To get the best results, use the exfoliating masks and scrubs after facial steaming.

  • Tea Tree Oil – It can be used as a natural astringent to reduce oiliness and get rid of white heads. Because of its antibacterial properties, it will also fight acne.

Dip a cotton swab in water and put three or four drops of tea tree oil on it. Dab it on the affected area and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. Repeat it twice daily until you observe any improvement.

  • Cinnamon – It is excellent for improving the quality of your skin. It is also used as a scrub to reduce black heads and white heads. It also promotes the production of collagen, thereby facilitating skin regeneration. Plus, cinnamon has anti-microbial properties that fight acne.

Mix together one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and oat flour with sufficient warm water to make a thick paste. Spread it on the face and scrub for a few minutes. Leave it for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off. Alternatively apply a paste of one teaspoon each of honey and aloe vera gel and a pinch of cinnamon powder. Leave it on for approximately 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Use the remedies twice or thrice a week until you get some satisfying results.
