No mercy. Kill the lice.

Next time you get a chance to peer some kids during their morning assembly, observe them keenly, half of them would be scratching their heads. It is because of those little monsters that stay in their heads.

Having lice in your head is a reason to panic because it is like a contagious disease, it will spread to people around you very easily and soon you will see them scratching their heads. But don’t worry there are ways to achieve victory in this battle also keep in mind it is going to be long battle.

The various reasons for head lice are improper hair care, not washing head, contact to other heads which contain lice which crawl and land up to your head. Sharing clothes, beddings etc do serve as a contact for lice.

How to get rid of them.

Lice are adaptive parasites who have gathered the potential to survive in any conditions. The only way to get rid of them is to suffocate and kill them. A simple way involves taking a nit comb and search them out of your head and kill them, this will make it a long process as you got to repeat it every week for about a two months.

There are ways to speed up the whole process.

Pyrethrum: One of the ingredients in lice killing shampoos, it gives amazing results. Search for a shampoo with this ingredient. Apply it in the hair like hair oil and leave for half an hour. Now, wash your hair with water, when you will rub the scalp lather will produce. Repeat (if necessary) after 10-12 days.

Spinosad: It is natural insecticide completely safe for hair. You can find it as one of the ingredients in lice killing lotions. Apply it on the scalp, let it work for 10-15 minutes and then wash.

Tea tree oil: Mix some tea tree oil with your shampoo and use it regularly for about a month. After every wash, look for lice and nits. Neem oil, vinegar, onions etc work the same way so you can use them replace-ably.

Alcohol: Use an alcohol solution with 70% alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to coat all over your scalp. Leave it for 10 minutes, alcohol has the property to kill the lice. Wash thereafter and look for any(if left) with a nit comb.

Hair dyers: Hot blows by a hair dryer kill almost all the nuts(eggs of lice) but they are not that effective on living lice, you can go for this remedy at the later stages of the treatment when all the living lice are dead.
