The abbreviations BB CC and DD have been a far cry from our country even if they are stamped to be Asian products. BB is still known, CC are yet to show up their charm while DD are still deep into the grave.
Let us have a look over what does these are,
BB is short for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm. Generally termed as all in one a facial cream it contains the qualities of serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sun-block. It was more of an Asian product which gained market in US later, that led to its modification. The Asian form of the cream contains more of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, active ingredients of a sunscreen. Also, they give a whiter look adhering to the geographical needs. While the western counter part of this cream is lighter and more like a tinted moisturizer. They contain anti ageing components, moisturizers such as glycerin, ingredients to even out the skin tone, some forms of mica to leave a radiant skin and silicon that smoothens the abrasions. All in one a product which is must to stay in your bag.
But it is not just all that you got to buy. A BB cream does contain benefits of all but it is not the master of any. It is neither a moisturizer to the full, nor a sunscreen. You cannot rely on it completely. A lot of ingredients make it thicker than foundations. But it surely enhances the effects of a foundation, so you can club it up with some of it.
CC stands for ‘Color Correcting’ and works to attain a fine finish against redness, shallowness etc. they provide more coverage as compared to BB creams while hiding away the red spots on the skin. It is lighter than BB cream, focuses on even tone of the skin but do not confuse it with a concealer. Also works against sun due its sun-block ingredients.
The DDs, most of you must not have learnt this term before, that okay, it is not yet that cool in our country. DD creams are yet another variation to the whole of this lot. DD stands for ‘Daily Defence’. They are another step up to the CC providing much larger coverage in every field like anti ageing, sun protection, color correction etc.
On a serious note, they are not a must haves, as other products provide a similar effect, yet they have their own charm. Try your way out.
