It is almost a miracle to see your body float over water, due to which swimming becomes most loved sport. Also, you don’t need a motivation to lose weight if swimming is what you got to do. The summers are up which makes much more eager to pull the lever at the nearest pool.

 

But there is much more to it than you think. As you know, good and evil are the two sides of the same coin. This pool of water makes you feel awesome, true. But there are a lot a negative effects of it that you realize later. One such is skin tan.

 

The excessively chlorinated water at the swimming pools is important to kill the germs but gives a sticky tan to the skin which takes months to remove.

 

To avoid.

Before going to the pool make sure you wearing a water resistant sunscreen with a higher SPF value higher than your usual one. If you are swimming while sun is up then you are dragging yourself into a lot danger. The skin will be affected much more. You can coat the sun screen with a moisturiser containing squalene and zinc. It will help.

Wearing a cap is a must, but it is not all. Swimming snatches all the moisture from hair and skin. You must not enter the pool until you have applied some oil or hair serum.

Repeat the sunscreen every 45 minutes or avoid swimming thereafter.

 

To get rid of.

The above remedies are just to avoid the tan, but if you are already a victim, they won’t hide the past. Skin packs would work. Take some papaya pulp and add some honey to it, apply this face pack. Make it a part of your weekly regime until you see a considerable change.

To remove the tan from whole body, try out the age old remedy with gram flour (besan). Take some gram flour, add a pinch of turmeric to it and some milk. Keep it a little hard and apply it all over your body. Repeat this once a week till all the tan is gone.

Potato juice works great for removing tan. Grate a potato, get the juice out by squeezing it. apply it all over your face. But it has one loop hole, potatoes make the skin dry, so your already dry skin could become drier by using them. Do keep your skin nourished by moisturizers and oils after this remedy.
