Treadmill The Exercise Machine

Treadmills are exercise machines for running or walking on one place. Technically, it is a conveyer belt running on an electric motor or manually. The passive once are those which work through human effort, the others assist your movement over a machine. They are an alternative for outdoor walking as the fast pace of life and the daily chores don’t allow you to spare some time outdoors. Also, it gives you enough privacy, safety and security and does not cater to your excuses for not working out on a day. At your home, you can multitask with a lot of other stuff while running on a treadmill, like watching television. Of course you can take care of slope, incline or speed.

Treadmills are generally bought for losing weight. But most people do not use them correctly unless you have a trainer along. For those who cannot go to a gym a treadmill at their place would be a great choice. But do you just switch it on and start running? No, that is not correct, it takes a few steps to get the best results.

Warm up, that’s the first thing you need to do before any heavy physical exercise. It helps you escape cramps and injuries during the exercise.

Set up the treadmill with your body counts like your age, weight, gender. This way the treadmill calculates your target heart rate and can help burn fat in a better way by setting you on your fat zone. In this way the machine calculates your burnt calories accurately, otherwise what gets displayed in the calories column is just a pre fed or algo generated number.

The wireless chest strap that lies with your treadmill has to be tucked on the chest all through the workout so that your heart rate constantly gets fed into the machine and it keeps you a-in your fat burning zone all the time.

Beginners are advised to hold the bars but once you get into the habit of it, do not hold the bars even on th inclines. Holding the bars effects your walking posture, also burns lesser calories.

Watch your landing. Whether you land on toes, on heels or mid way, it will matter a lot. If you land on toes, you are putting a lot pressure on calves and will end up having cramps. If you land on the heels, you will be putting unnecessary stress your knees. You should land midsole.

HIIT is high intensity interval training, a routine to lose weight fast. Include HIIT in your cardio regime on the treadmill to take it to the next level.

Running uphill is harder than running on level ground. This is why it’s important to use the incline feature of treadmills to get the utmost benefits from the machine. It will help you burn more calories.

Incline Calories Burnt Per Hour
